• What does Cards Against Humanity say about us?  We contacted CAH and they were kind to say, “We wish you the best of luck. Sounds like you’re doing a really great thing to keep kids from a really dumb drug.”
  • What about copyright?  On their website, CAH says “Cards Against Humanity is available under a BY-NC-SA 2.0 Creative Commons license. That means you can use our content to make whatever, but you have to give us credit, you can’t profit from the use of our content (this means ad revenue is not allowed), and you have to share whatever you make in the same way we share it (this means you can’t submit our content to any app store). We own the name “Cards Against Humanity,” so you have to call your crappy thing something else.” We are non-profit and we called our crappy thing something else – Doctors Against Tragedies.
  • What about elementary kiddos? Shouldn’t you start the drug awareness education process sooner, before it is “too” late?  Absolutely! A group of kiddos ranging from elementary to high school created their own “Junior Edition” deck. We will be launching a website soon!
  • I’m offended! Why the terrible language in the “Horrible Version 18+”?   To be honest, we are more concerned about preventing young adults from trying street fentanyl (or other drugs) than we are concerned about using graphic and offensive language. Other fentanyl social awareness campaigns use graphic imagery of people overdosed or dead bodies, which are equally if not more upsetting. Instead of relying on fear tactics (which research shows is ineffective), we are trying something new. We are using creativity and humor to educate our target audience and create social change. We designed our campaign for people most at risk. We shouldn’t be afraid to use language that will resonate with our target group. If you don’t like the horrible version and find it offensive, we recommend that you use the Trivia version instead. To note, not all of the DAT Team Members were involved in making the Horrible Social Change Version.
  • I have ideas for a white card, black card or trivia card. How can I send them to you? How can I get involved?  We would love to hear your ideas and any feedback that you have. Please send us a message!
